Hi. I’m working on a model of an architectural project I have to do a presentation of. It will mostly consist of rendered images, of course, but I thought it would be really nice if I could somehow show the model while I play around with it in real time.. That is, I rotate it, zoom on it, etc… kind of like what we see in a viewport, but nicer :)

The viewport would be good enough if it didn’t have the Max window / toolbars around it, the rotation sphere, the bland grey color, etc.

I don’t really need textures, a solid color would do, but I’d like an interactive fullscreen window of the model. Can this be done? First thing I thought is Flash. I googled and came up with the Swift 3D plugin, but as far as I can see, it will render vector animations, but not an interactive model I can play with while I’m showing it.

Does anyone have any ideas for this?

Thanks in advance

Would the Autodesk DWF Viewer do what you want?

I think it’s been replaced by Design Review, is that the same thing?

If you are on a 32 bit platform the Cebas plugin MaxVR might be something to look at,
it renders out a Quicktime movie that covers all sides so the object can be seen (rotate around)
from all sides in the player.  Does NOT work on a 64 bit machine out of Max.

thanks a lot! The dwf viewer (design review, whatever) might be a good option. I wasn’t aware it could do 3D too. I’ll try it when I get to work

About the other one, I don’t think my boss will want to spend money on this (same with Swift3D actually), but thanks for the idea! (I should have mentioned “free slutions preferred") :D

"Free”.....

Right Hemisphere Deep View is free, and will display interactive 3D full-screen or within something like Powerpoint - it’ll import OBJ, so you can export that from Max and drag it across.
