All I want to do is clone a light, and change some parameters.  When I use Control-V to clone, select “COPY”....my new light acts like an instance!  How annoying!

Whatever change I make to one light, happens to the other light!!

Is this a bug????

Does it happen to anyone else, or is mu computer just “special”??!?

TIA

Dean

Here it works as expected, Max 2008 64 bit.
Are you sure you take the clone option?
What happens if you Shift-Clone it?

If this is happening, which it shouldn’t, click the Make Unique icon in the modifier panel, as seen in the attachment.

The Ctrl-V dialog defaults to “Instance” the first time you use it in a session. If you change it to “Copy” it works (doesn’t create an instance) and it “remembers” that setting for the rest of the session.
