Hey all.  i’m kinda new to 3ds Max but i’ve already completed a bunch of projects for my job so i’ve learned quite fast.  My question is about something new i’m working on and it deals with lighting.  I have this room with a desk and overhead cabinets.  I have one major spotlight coming from the top but i also want lights coming from right underneath the overheads onto the desk.  So basically i want to have light shine on the desk, then i want another light (which would make the desk hotter/brighter) coming from the overhead.  The problem i’m facing is that i have the both lights shining onto the desk but it seems the giant spotlight has taken priority and its causing the shadow from the overhead to take priority over the overhead light.  How do i fix this?  Thanks!

I am assuming you are using the Scanline renderer and Standard lights.

Adjust the balance between the different light Multipliers (Intensity/Color/Attenuation), and Shadow Density (Shadow Parameters) values, to achieve the desired effect.

Plus look into using the Light Lister tool along w/ Active Shade in your viewport to get very good realtime feedback on how your scene looks.
