Hello,

I recently purchased a student license of 3DS Max 2008, and am currently locked out of the program and am unable to activate it.  I had purchased a one year license last year and it recently expired, so I purchased a new license after recently enrolling in an online class.  I installed it on the same PC (which I recently reformatted) and it is the same version (2008).  Whenever I try to run the program, I get a prompt saying,

“Your license has expired. You can no longer use this product.
To purchase a new copy of this product, visit Autodesk on the Web at http://www.autodesk.com”

I’m assuming this is referring to the old license which is still linked to my PC, so I went to the Autodesk website to try an register the new serial number there, but it requires a request code that is generated when starting Max.  I cannot get a request code however, because I cannot start the program.  Can anyone help me get past this issue?  I seem to be completely stuck.

Thanks!

-John

I actually found a solution to this problem in the form of a hotfix that allows activation.  If anyone else encounters this problem, the link for the hotfix is: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/ser...d=12317438&linkID=9241178
