Greetings!  been a long time; i think the last time i posted a msg was back on the old forum, pre-Area!

Anyway, i have a small dilemma.  I have a LW model which i pulled into MAX 9 via Polytrans...it did a nice job with the translation of geometry for those that may be interested.  however my problem is this.  The file has color, specular, and diffuse channel maps.  The first two maps correlate to Diffuse and Specular channels of MAX respectively.  My question is, what the heck does the Diffuse channel correlate to?

any thoughts???  i certainly would be uber thankful!

Best,

-Zafe

There’s a diffussion slot within the Raytrace Mat. You can simulate that as well with Standard materials by nesting both the diffuse bitmaps and diffusion bitmaps in an RGB multiply map. whew! Feels like time travel back to the old days. Glad to be back here.
