Howdy,
I just got this shiny new HP workstation with a bajillion gb of RAM and so it seems to make sense to install a 64-bit OS. I have heard what you might call “mixed” reports on Vista. Does anybody have feedback on the performance of MAX 9 64-bit on the Vista 64-bit OS? Any info much appreciated. Cheers,

Eric Knisley

I’ve had Vista 64-bit on my honkin PC for a good 2 months now.
It’s an amazing OS once you re-learn a few things...Don’t expect it to make a lot of sense like XP or others

But I have yet to make 3DS Max 9 64-bit work with it.
I’ve got my laptop working the 32-bit version wonderfully, but the 64-bit is fighting me every step of the way.

It worked very well with XP-64 bit so I know it’s something with Vista and not just the 64-bit part.

But yeah, on a whole...I really enjoy Vista-64…
Very few bugs (I haven’t found any really, aside from the obvious)
I DO know however that other people HAVE gotten it to work in Vista
Just a matter of reading all those posts and trying to figure it out

Hope your new PC is loads of fun!

Okay, so I stand corrected…
3DS Max DOES work wonderfully on Vista 64-bit…
You just have to work around it!
hehe, so don’t be discouraged it will definately work!
