Having a major issue with Max2008’s AutoGrid. For example, I create a box, switch to the perspective view and turn on Autogrid, the gizmo moves aligns perfectly along every surface of the box, the gizmo axis displays its correct xyz direction, but when I create a second box to align to it, the helper grid along with the box is aligned with the MainGrid only. Since I am in the persective view, I turn on 3d snapping, that did not work. I also tried to create a HelperGrid, also the same result. I uninstalled Max, wiped-out the folder, re-installed, and the same problem persists. Does anyone have any idea what is going-on. By the way I install both fixes for Max2008

Never mind, it was a user script I downloaded that altered my 3dsmax.ini file. Word of advise, if you resort to un-installing max, delete the ini file hidden in USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Autodesk\3dsmax\2008 - 32bit\enu\ . I could not understand why the problem persisted after 4 re-installs.
