Hi there,
Every other time I exit Max version 8, I’m getting this Runtime Error.
Please see the attached screen grab.

Autodesk Max 2010 (sometimes I use Max version 8)
Maya 2011, Mudbox 2010, Motion Builder 2010, Windows CP PC Pentium 3.4 Ghz, 2 GB RAM

What version of windows are you using?
Also have you got the latest version of the runtime files installed?

I’m running windows XP, Max version 8.  I’ve got Max upgraded to the final SP3.
Where can I get the latest runtime files?  I went to the Microsoft site, couldn’t find them.

Also - I did some research.  It seems these Runtime errors happen a lot, they attribute them to registry problems, it needs fixing and cleaning.  I ran a couple registry cleaning programs, it found and fixed 1000’s of problems, but I still get that error when I exit Max, but only after I work with certain Max files and perform the same operations on that file.

Many applications use Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library, if you are not experiencing this message with other applications then it looks like a 3DSMAX issue. It may also be a conflict with any Windows hotfixes installed during a recent Windows Update which will probably resolve itself with a follow-up hotfix.

I would recommend uninstalling 3DSMAX and reinstalling afresh with the latest Service Pack and recommended hotfixes which match your system.

I haven’t done any hotfixes lately.  I tried the uninstall Max and reinstall.  It’s got the latest SP3.
