Motion mixer -- can't scale clips

I cannot scale clips in the Motion Mixer.

I’m dragging the right side and I see it expanding (and the scale indicator changes on the clip bar) but as soon as I release the mouse button the clip snaps back to it’s original length.

Very frustrating!
