Most of my DBR (max 2008 64 bit) rendering will not work.

I am trying to render a scene with 2,866,437 faces (a small villa + some 3D plants) on 2 QuadCore PCs (both 4 gigs of RAM) and after finishing the FG stage and entering the GI stage - the program crashes.

output size is 4000X1850 pixels and using max/min sampling of 16/1 and BOX filter. daylight system is used.

And now - my usual question - why a 4000 US$ software can’t just for once work without forcing us to waste time on solving problems.

(Should I reall add “ANGRY” ???) NIR....

Please try a lower resolution, lower FG / GI and lower sampling to see if it is memory related, file related, network related, etc.

I understand you’re frustrated, but really just try lowering the settings to see if it is something being pushed too far or if it is another problem.

With FG / GI… do you need to produce the file first then send the job out?

It Could be (I started with Mitchell and 16/4 nad lowered it) but I need DBR for production so reducing settings isn’t gonna help.

THX

The file is definitely small compared with other projects I have. (a small villa with less than 200 faces) most of the faces are from PArray created for simulating living fence.

What if you try turning up the memory limit (render scene dialogue --->processing---->under translator options
