i’ve been trying to export to obj. format a max.9 file, but everytime i import the obj. file, into a different application, the materials do not load. am i missing a setting or something during the export process? is the mtl. file corrupt possibly? any direction is appreciated.

Chances are you haven’t specified the material file on import, or the app you are trying to
load the obj into doesn’t support .mtl’s
It might help if you explain what package you are trying to import into.

it’s been my experience that the material file associated with the obj. file should load automatically when opened or imported into a program such as carrara or poser.
