Two identical machines in my rendering network are running at drastically different speeds. I checked the perf. index option in Backburner, and it says that one is running at 20% and the other is running at 91% (compared to the fastest machine on the network). The 20% machine is also running the monitor, server, and manager. The only difference I can see is that the 20% machine has about 42 gigs less hard drive space, but this shouldn’t matter because I’m saving a network drive. I’ve also heard that you only need about 5 gigs free anyway, so I really don’t know what the problem is.
