Anyone have any idea what would cause this?

See attached JPG.

I have tried everything I know - even strips and it is still giving me similar errors in the rendered image.

I suppose it’s safe to say you are rendering with MentalRay?
Can you post the file?

Yes, it is mental ray with a model we purchased from http://www.turbosquid.com.

It is a very simple scene with 3 lights, 3 cameras and the model.

One thing to note is that it does not happen when done on files below 2000 x 2000. it is just when I crank up the pixels that it happens.

The designers needed the image at a higher image size for a project we are doing and that is when i discovered the problem.

If you bought the model and it’s in this file you should remove the link since the model should not be distributed by you.

Watch out freely posting a commercial model. You might get in to trouble with your contract…

Rendered ok here ( at full resolution, but this forum won’t allow that size posted here) with your settings, without the texture. Once I am done testing for you I will delete the max file.

Signing off for the night,

I removed the link. I, totally did not even think about the file being open like that. Thanks for the notice.
