Hey people,
i was wonderinf if anyone can give me a tutorial on how to , like say for example create a sword or something. i dont know how to curve and put mesh when i did the lines i really dont know how i put the round peices on the line so could anyone teach me how to make a 3d sword and use curves im using autodesk 3ds max 2008 need help please

Before jumping into your “pet project” you’d be well advised to do the tutorials which ship with max. Max is a very big product and you’ll get lost very quickly if you don’t.

I don’t know what’s up with that image, but Paint Shop Pro says it’s not a valid jpeg - you might want to use a “normal” host (imageshack, yousendit etc).



Max 4.2 through 2013.

thanks for the reply,
i just took a screen shot just to show you what ive done but the problem is i dunno what to do next. is there anyway you can write down some of the stuff i need to know like where they are cause i serioulsy need them and those tutorials, man serioulsy didnt learn anything with them there too fast so i came here for help

Then do them slowly. If you don’t learn the basics (boring maybe, but absolutely essential) you’ll get stuck at every turn. As you are beginning to find out.

Yes, you can export to .ASE. Select your sword then File > Export Selected > Pick “ASCII Scene Export (*.ASE)” from the drop-down list.
