Please help!!!

I’m trying to find the trial password for 3ds MAX 2008.  I have the installation DVD which I received from a vendor.  When I try t install it, it asks for a password to install the trial.  I click on the link to obtain the password, and it takes me to the Max 2009 page.  The password that page gives me does not work in 2008.

I need to use the 2008 trial to open a set of files for review/pricing for a proposal.  We currently still use version 9.

I’ve called Autodesk support. They told me to call sales.  Sales told me to call support.  Their support e-mail told me call the vendor.  The vendor hasn’t returned my calls yet......arrrgh!

Any help is appreciated.

There is a password.  It’s asking for one before it will install off the disc.  Like I said, clicking on the like to obtain the needed password takes me to the 2009 site.  The password of “visualize” this it issues for 2009 is not valid for 2008

I have tried to download 2009, but their server keeps timing out before completion.  But what I really need is 2008.

i have never seen that before
they may have sent you the wrong thing because autodesk trials of any of their products don’t require a password of any kind

Maybe you get that with the downloaded trial version (dunno - never installed from a d/l).

I guess the “being sent to a 2009 page” is logical - 2009 is the current and therefore only fully supported version.

And I’m trying to d/l 2009, but can’t..... their server times out.  I’ve been trying for 2 days.

Really doesn’t matter at this point.  We’ve had to pass on the opportunity for this job due to not having the current version.

That’s what I’m trying to install from, a 2008 DVD.

I’ll be getting a 2009 disk tomorrow, too late for this job

thats what i am trying to figure out the trial should not be asking for a password

I’ve never seen that, but that doesn’t mean much… if you know anyone who already has a Max2008 or Max2009 DVD, anytime you install, you can run it as a trial… no password.  So if you do, borrow their DVD and install your trial.  If you do not, you must be getting it through the Vendor or Reseller, they may be setting a password on their distributions.

You probably should not be getting timeouts on the trial download… can you try from a different computer?  The email you got should have a path link to the trial if they still send emails for registering for the trial download… otherwise, just enter your info again.
