Im using max 2008 and Im trying to disable the triangles and I cant figure it out.  I tried using to object properties and uncheck the edges only but still not disabling the triangles.

Customise | Preferences | Viewports (tab) | Configure Driver
Uncheck “Display all triangle edges”.

Important. The file which stores that setting is in the Installation folder (under Program Files by default). On Vista/Win7 normal users do not have write permissions in that folder so the setting will not “stick” between sessions. Run Max as Administrator to ensure the setting is made permanent.

thanks it work..appreciate your response.  Also I had another problem when I toggle from F4 to F3 I have a solid RED box guide.  I converted to editable poly but I cant select the polygons becuase the object has a solid RED box guide.  How can I disable the red box guide.  Thanks again.

Sorry - I don’t understand the question. What “red box guide”?

A screenshot showing exactly what you mean would help.
