Hello, I have graphic card driver problem (I think) but i am not sure which camp this relates to, Nvidia or Autodesk.

Spec:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
4 gigs of ram
Club3D GeForce 8800GTS 512
Vista 64 Home Premium

When i navigate the studio max 2008 interface the refresh rate is notiably slower than it is on the desktop (with or without Aero) and i get flashing and trails for example when i move the render dialogue box from one end of screen to the other. The actual acceleration of the viewports is fine in D3D but the interface has a distinct and very annoying problem.

This doesn’t happen with any other app i use. I am using the latest Vista 64 WHQL drivers and i have even upgraded further to the latest available BETA drivers but it doesn’t make any difference.

Strange thing is when i roll back to the very basic out-of-the-box Vista 64 drivers and fire up max the interface is smooth again however i totally lose the viewports as they are blank.

Does anyone else use Vista 64 and a GeForce 8800GTS 512?

Any thoughts and help would be appreciated!

Does anyone at least have either an 8800GTS 512 or 8800GT combined with Max 2008??

I think there are many users with either similar or same spec as yours. I don’t really have an answer. I have the same card with Max 2008 on Vista 32, but I haven’t updated my Nvidia driver in a while. I’m probably using a driver version that is two or three versions old.
