Hi all,

Ok, this just drives me nuts. I have Max 6 and Max 9.

My Pc is:
HP m9457c
Intel Core Quad CPU 2.40, 2.40
Vista 64-bit Home Premium
8gig RAM
ATI Radeon HD 3650

Anyways, this is the problem I’m getting.I go into Video Post and add a lens effect flare using an omni light as my node. Ok, that’s fine. But when I animate properties of the lens effect flare I get a problem. Everything animates properly in my VP window but when I hit ok so I can go back and save my project it become non responsive. Hence I lose what I just worked on. The only property I got to work was when I animated the streak size. I can’t animate more than one darn property.

This also happens on version 6 on my laptop.

I’ve gone from direct 3d to open gl and still it happens.

Years ago while I was in school my teacher told me she never uses it because it’s way too buggy. Hard to believe that they haven’t fixed it.

I have never gotten any help from Autodesk so I’m asking in the discussion goups I do like the looks you should be able to get but it’s unfortunate that I can’t ever get it to work and have to reproduce this in AE.

Any help?

A better forum for this would be “Max through 2008” - you posted in a Max 2009 specific forum. I’ll move the thread shortly.

Max 6 on Vista? Not likely to work successfully.
Max 9 on Vista - requires SP2 (at least) to function correctly. I would apply Hotfix 4 which includes all of SP2. Link.

Max 4.2 through 2012 (SP2+SAP).
XP-64 (SP2)
NVidia 9800GTX-512 (Driver 266.58).
Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX9.0c.
