hey guys, I am using max 9 and currently I met a problem make me so confused.

See my attached two pictures below, u’ll see my human model actually has the same height with that box object, but if I open the object property for both object, the values are totally different! The human model’s Z axis is 17432.611cm!(174 Meters...)

If I reset the XForm for this model, the height will back to normal but the map on the model will be disordered....

Any idea what’s wrong with my model and how to solve this problem?

Which one did you use the Scale tool on?

Scale at the object level is a Transform, not a modeling tool. If you want to scale an object at the object level, apply an XFrom modifier and Scale its Gizmo. This changes the “scale” from a transform into a modifier.

If you Scale at the sub-object level, then consider Scale as a modeling tool.

In the attached image there are two Box objects. Both created with the same 50x50x100 dimensions. I Scaled the blue Box 200% on World Z. However, if I check the Object Properties, the height is still at 100 as is the Height in the Modifier panel. But, check the Z Dimension in the Measure utility, which shows the actual “dimension” in 3-space as 200.

Scale at the object level is a transform. I take a Box with a height of 100 and Scale it 200% (2x). It is still a Box with a height of 100, but it now measures 200 due to the transform.

Thank you very much, Now I understood..~~~
