Hello everyone,

I’m a novice max user and i’m to the point where my renderings are all starting to look the same.  What’s my next step in taking this to a more realistic level?  What values should i look at tweaking, or should i be doing something different all together like a lens shader or something.

I think your scenes could pop out a lot more if they had more detail - more texture - more contrast.

I agree.  If you look at really great 3D images, one thing they all have in common is details.  It doesn’t always have to be really high poly detail pieces, but just adding in some interesting textures and filling in the space with entourage can help tremendously.  And giving your existing materials a little variation can go a long way, too.
