I am new to 3DS Max and have followed a tutorial on creating a waving flag.  The scene consists of a plane and cloth modifier and wind modifier that makes the flag wave.  It looks great, but I cannot seem to get it to loop seamlessly.

Ideally it would be 50-75 frames and looped seamlessly but I have been trying for two days and cannot accomplish this.

If anyone can help I have $5 in my Paypal account I can send as payment.  :)

I tested this with animated noise on a plane, not cloth, but it should work.
With the object animated, choose a range of frames from the anim you want to use in the loop.
Make a snapshot of the object at the first frame you want to use.
Add a Morpher to the original object and pick the snapshot as a target.
Animate the Morpher to bring the shape back to the starting position at the end of the range you want to use over an appropriate number of frames to look good.
Add and Record a Point Cache for the chosen range of frames, and then Disable Modifiers Below.
Set keys for the Playback Frame for the point cache from the start to the number of frames in the range.
Set the Out Of Range Type to Cycle.
It should loop.

Oh my....thank you for your help but 99% of what you said is completely beyond my level of experience!  :) I will try to follow it step by step, but I have a feeling I will be two more days at this.

Anything you’re not sure about look it up in the help. Everything mentioned above should be in there, probably with examples.

Thank you for the link.  I got most of the way through it and have a “decent” loop with only a slight hitch...so thanks again!
