Hi!
I downloaded a rigged model (a squirell) which is already equipped with different animations. These are located in different files like: attack, run, die, and so forth.
I want to use this model with the animations for a game thats why i need all these animations in one file for export.
My first idea was to export these animations in biped files and to import them into one scene afterwards. But thats not possible because they are made with bones. Is there a possibility to convert the bone animation in such a biped (or quaped in this case). Or is there an alternative way to merge all these files into one.
I hope you can help me.
Kind regards

Yeah that’s impossible, yes the biped using it’s own bones. You can rigg the model yourself by using the biped or by using the bones buit you cannot use the biped and bones together. you cannot use the motion capture file on the bones only on the Biped
Is there a possibility to convert the bone animation in such a biped?
why do you want to convert the animation iyou will loose it.
If you want to using someone elses model in a game then you need to get their permission. I don’t know how true this is i just hear it by mouth and i keep Bitching at ppl unless you have the right to using it I would not because you may get sued unless you the permission of the moddler. If you want the persmission then you need to write to the site where you download the model and ask for his/her email address. If he/she said it’s ok then ask for that in writing.

Give me some more information what are you really trying to do? You cannot use the bone and biped together you can animation the bones but not use them together with the biped.

kay..
there are 5 files (run, attack, die, etc.). These files include a particular type of animation (run, attack, die, etc.). But I need those animations in one file. They should be attached to one model. I just thought i could convert the bones to a new biped and could include it afterwards. As you said thats not possible but it try to find another possibility.
Do know one?

If your talking about the motion capture file you can add them onto one model like he/she can run, jump attack and then die. But if your talking about the Mocap file they are already in one folder in your documents

Here is something to try, I havn’t done it, so can’t guarantee it will work though.
Load one of the anim files, select all the bones, choose Save Animation from the File menu and save that bit of animation to a file.
Do this for each anim.
Then load a file with that same rig, select the bones and choose Load Animation from the File menu. The bones will need to be mapped, but if the rig is the same that should not be a problem. You can set it to “Insert” the animation “At Frame” to load the anim at a frame after the anim already loaded, load each of the saved anims in turn in this way, setting the At Frame where the last one ends.
If you created a biped to fit the mesh, you could maybe load the animation into that. You would have to map all the bones of the original rig to the corresponding biped bones and also re-skin the character to the biped. But you could save the anims as bip files and use them in MoFlow or MoMixer.
