I have a biped that will not allow me to enter the footstep mode (grayed out) to create footsteps.  Why is it grayed out and how can I get it to become active again?  Selecting the COM doesn’t solve the problem.  I can still animate it by moving the limbs manually, but not able to generate foot steps.  I’ve been animated with regular bones for a few years, but this biiped thing is new to me.

Thanks for any help.

Mark

I think I found the answer. Apparently if you have any keys set for any portion of the biped, even an initial pose key, you cannot enter footstep mode. After deleting the keys at frame zero, the footstep mode is now active once again.

Hey just wanted to say thanks for the tip. I was having the same problem and as a motion designer most of the time I sometimes forget the little things in biped. I was like duh! when I saw your post. Well back to work.

Glad it helped.  I keep waiting for them to create the, “Make an animated show”, button.  It would be so much easier.
