Hello, I need to do kind of ... Well its hard to explain what kind of animation, but its gotta be absolute keyframing for the sequence I am working on. For instance, when using a BIPED, moving the characters arm up, having it hold there for a few seconds, then moving it back in place causes this “smoothing” effect, like a natural smoothness to the animation. I am trying to get rid of that, make it keyframe up - Stay there unmoving, and keyframe down. I have tried several different things through the curve editor, as well as through the biped Workbench, none of them will alter the curves the way I need it to be.

I am using MAX 2010 - and any help would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks!

Copy the key frame at the “top” and place the copy where you want the “down” to start...unless I am clueless to what you are trying to do...IDK

i Do believe you can do it by changing Quaternion to Euler, but I’ve heard you shouldn’t. What I do is go to Key info >TCB > set continuity to 0 for all the parts that needs a hold. Requires a few more keyframes.

Old in animation - New in the rest!
