If I have a biped that takes 2 steps forward in 30 frames and I want him to continue walking forward over 2000 frames, what’s the smartest way to do this?  Can someone point me to a tutorial that demonstrates this?  Also if you have tutorial links that explain simply how to loop a stationary (walk in place) biped, that’d be useful to me as well.

Hey Mark,

I would like to know how to do this as well. ie. loop a walking biped in place and then move him along a path. (just for better control of where he’s going). Did you ever find a good way?

Flatten(Convert) your animation to freeform...one key per frame if you wish. Then just select the Bip01 Root and delete the Local X axis keys.

This can be scripted…

Just found this - might be a good starting point --> http://www.character-studio.net/what_you_will_learn_in_these_tutorials.htm It all still seems relevant to Max2009 (Icons, and such)

Tutorial 5, Lesson 3 had me up and running in minutes
