Hello everyone,

I’m sorry I don’t speak english very well, I’ll try to do my best…

My problem is that I’ve got a motion vector (variables V that informe about X position through time T), saved on “.dat” format(this isn’t a problem to convert into another format I think). I would like to import this motion vector into 3dsmax, to control X position of one of the objects of my scene. I learnt a bit about the “.XAF” format, but I wasn’t able to load it on an object. And the problem is how to convert easily the “.dat” motion vector into a “.XAF” format?

Is there any other solutions?
How do people do when they have motion sensors controling animated model motion? I don’t want to do this on real time, i just have a vector that indicate the motion to respect, and I have to use it in 3DSmax.

I hope it’s clearly explained, and ask me additionning questions if it isn’t clear for you.

Hoping someone of you has the solution…

“Salutations à tous” (in fact I’m french..)

Hi jwallis,

Thanks very much for the link, I think it is the script I need.
Because of I never worked with Maxscript, I will study the script and try to modify in order to be able to open a .dat file.
Thanks for your replies.
