Hi everyone,

New to 3ds, coming from Lightwave, not so new to 3d, however, if it helps

I would like an object to inherit some transformations from one dummy helper and the remaining transformations from another dummy helper. Can I do this? I found the Link Info page and see where I can select which transformations are inherited, but when I link the child to a different parent, It seems I lose the inheritance from the first parent.

Thanks

David

You could use a couple constraints together (Animation> Constraints). An example would be use a link constraint to control the position and an orientation constraint for the rotation.

There’s also wire parameters which let you control the parameters of one object with the parameters of another object. An example would be if you want a tire to rotate based on it’s x position. You can also use expressions in here for more flexibility.

Thank you. You’ve given me some keywords to search the docs.
