I have multiple animations of a character that need to be merged together into one 3d max scene file. This character is for a game.

There are 3 animation .max files. With there own individual animation sequence. Which need to be merged together.
- Char_run 0-20
- Char_walk 0-10
- Char_attack 0-10

I want to add each sequence in a order to one .max file, like..
- Char_run 1-20
- Char_walk 25-35
- Char_attack 40-50

I saved out the .BIP files. I have tried copy and paste the TRACK animation of the biped. Also tried copy and paste of the motion flow. Each time I paste, it will overwrite the other animation keyframes. All animations must be on the same layer. When I add Char_run, it will add the file ok. When I try to paste the animations of Char_walk, it will add it ok, but delete Char_run keyframes.

What is the best method to add multiple Biped files into one file and not have them overwrite each other when I paste.

Thank you.

Have you tried uploading your biped files on seperate animation layers using the “Load New Layer”, timing it out, and then merging them all into one?

Motion Mixer is a good way to bring, and mix, multiple BIP files.

I think i have the same question… I’ve been using the mixer to combine animations, but is there a way to collapse them all into keyframes (without making a key per frame)?  I want to concatenate two .bip files, but also do a bit of manual keyframe tweaking after that.
