I’m sure there’s something really obvious I’m missing here:

I’m using the Morph modifier on an Editable Patch object, and the seed object keeps jumping along the x axis when I pick the target.

- If I move the seed back to where it belongs, it simply moves the other direction as I animate the morph.
- The seed and target objects are located at the same xyz coordinates, and both their pivot points are Centered to Object.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

Hi,
Give this a shot,

Delete your Morpher mod.

First make sure you gizmo is aligned by going to hierarchy:

-Affect Pivot only

-Center to object

Now ....

Go into your Utilities ( the hammer icon on your command panel)

Click on the following Reset XForm > Reset Selected

Now collaspe your stack to editable poly and reapply the morpher to your object and re target your morph.

I hope this works, let me know how it goes.

Brilliant! I still don’t know how I managed to change the XForm in the first place, but now at least I know how to fix it.

You probably scaled the object at the object level rather than at a sub-object level. This is a big no-no where animation is concerned.
