I was wondering if there is a quick and easy way of muting an animation track in Max?

what do you mean by muting an animation track you mean stoping a sound FX you have playing in max?

No.
It’s a way of turning off an animation channel temporarily. Like turning off show end result in the modify panel.
For example lets say you have an animation of a ball bouncing and spinning at the same time. You may want to just see the bouncing without the spinning so you can see how the shape is deforming without the distraction of the spinning.
