| Resolution size of my animation won't increase past 42%:

Hello,
I am new to 3ds Max 2009. I was able to import an object designed in Inventor 2008 Pro and import it into 3ds. I created a camera rotating around the object. All works well and was very impressed with the quality of the animation.
The only issue I have is that the size of the actual animation is at 842 x 842 pixels. 42% to be exact.
I would like to increase the size of the animation but the program won’t go past 42%.
Is it possible to create a HD (1920 x 1080) sized video out of 3ds max?
If so, what setting do i need to fix so that I can increase the resolution size of the animation involving my project?
I am using the default scan line rendering engine not the mental ray engine.
Thanks,
Simon

How are you trying to set the resolution? There is a preset for 1080 HD, I use it all the time.

Hello,
Thanks for your quick response.
I am using the “other” render engine. When I choose Animation->Make preview - I set up the size here.
Is there a similar preset setup for the scanline default render engine?
Thanks,
Simon

I am using the “other” render engine. When I choose Animation->Make preview - I set up the size here.
That’s a preview, a quick low-res viewport quallity anim, not a proper render. Click the Teapot & Window icon on the toolbar or Choose Render Setup… from ther Rendering Menu or press F10.
Is there a similar preset setup for the scanline default render engine?
That part of the Render Setup is the same with scanline and mr.

WOW! That was only the low-res quality?
Thanks for clearing up my confusion.
I will try it tonight but I think that solves my problem.
Thank you.
Good day!

The percentage size you see in the preview is a percentage of the size you set here. So when set at HD 1080, 50% gives you 960x540.
