I've been able to make alterations to their meshes, changing the appearance of the characters somewhat and then export the result from 3DS back into a psk (ActorX plugin). Not any more. Suddenly today after spending a good couple hours modifying the appearance of a character and then exporting it to psk as usual, when I go to re-import it back into 3DS to do more editing the only thing I get is the skeleton/bones. No skin. This wasn't an issue before today but suddenly I cannot export the complete character, skin and bones? The skin is clearly there, the bones are clearly there, but when I select the button in the ActorX exporter titled: "Scene Info" I see "Number of physique: 1, Total geometric: 121, Bones in main skeleton: 120 and then for skin: 0. WHERE'D THE SKIN GO?! Why isn't it there in the psk file? Basically the scene I'm doing is a big airship battle and I need the pirate to be stood on his airship while its moving. I've imported motion capture from motion builder onto his biped (not sure if that would be an issue) I've used a motion controller to make the biped follow the airship but whenever I try and rotate the airship he stays in the same place. The other issue is the propeller, I've used another motion controller to keep the propeller rotating constantly but same as the biped it follows the airship until I try turning it. If anyone has any solutions or ideas please help. I am making animations for a client that demonstrate the construction process of the fireplace systems they sell. Many of the components are required to be joined to each other with grout. The current version of videos I've created simply shows a layer of grout rising out of the block it is to be placed upon. The animation looks as if the grout is growing out of the block, instead of being squirted onto the surface of the block, as you would do in real life. Can anyone provide some tips or places to begin learning how to animate a liquid material flowing? The idea of animating a liquid type material is definitely beyond my skill set in 3DS Max. I tried to open the Track View to get to the Dope Sheet so I can delete a batch of keyframes. Problem is, whenever I try to open the Curve Editor, I get the following error message: The Track View window could not be opened. The maximum number of editors may have been reached. Try closing and deleting existing Track Views. Problem is, I don't have any Track View windows opened. Not that I can see, anyway. I even tried quitting and restarting 3DS Max, loading the same file, and I still get the same error message. It's driving me nuts!
