| 3ds max UI (right side) flicker
|
|
|
This occurs in max 2009 but also have found it occuring for me in max 2010.
The right side of the UI, where the rollout and modifier list is, flickers. Basically when modeling and I am editing an object in edit-poly mode or in other sub modes of other modifiers, the rollout flickers or flashes, jumping from one mode to the next for example, vertex to face, edge to vertex, edge to element and so on.
Here is a video on vimeo that basically shows this happening. I am wondering if it has anything to do with my graphics card, Nvidia 8800GT 1GB (drivers up to date), or if it’s another issue?:

Thanks in advance.

That’s a new one one me - never seen that before.
I did notice your Quad menus were not appearing correctly (or is that down to the screen capture?). Mouse drivers are a common culprit for “odd things” happening on screen. If you have installed mouse specific drivers, try removing them and using the default ones built into windows. If it doesn’t fix it you can just reinstall them.

The Quad menus was because of the screen capture software, cleared up once it minimized and I started working in max. This is happening on a win7 OS, but has also occurred for me when I had vista as well as xp64.
Yea, quite a few people have said it’s an uncommon thing for them. But a friend has the same issue but his doesn’t lag as much as mine does, it’s hardly noticeable for him. I will try the mouse drivers idea, thank you. It’s a wireless set, keyboard and mouse - logitech ex100. Use to have wired set and it occurred with them as well, will give it a try.

Logitech drivers have been known to cause problems. Seeing as it’s a cordless, I don’t know if it will work without its own drivers, normal wired ones will.

It shouldn’t be a problem to uninstall the Logitech driver. My keyboard and mouse are also cordless form Logitech, and I uninstalled the driver without any problem.
