I am working on a file form 2006, it was set up in Max 7 I believe.

The scene contains several volume lights which pulse indicating communication between vbarious objects.

Trouble is that I cant render the volume lights. If I switch them all off in the environment dialog the scene renders, but the minute I switch any of them on the frame renders pure black?

I have tried opening the scene in an older version of Max but to no avail. I have also been through what I believe to be every setting relating to the in all the dialogs. I am at my wits end!

Rebuild them I hear you say..... well there are over 40 lights all set to different pulse rates and time is very limited.

Any help at all appreciated.

Ross

What happens if you merge it into a new scene?

What if you turn on only one light, does it render all black?
