Greetings All,

Peace.  I have a probelm.  I need to use 3DS Max 2009 on a mini note book.  Do you know the link to find the system requirements for 3DS max 2009, and do you know if 3ds Max 2009 can work with a typical mini note book as specified in the example below?

mini notebook system:
Genuine Windows® XP Home Edition SP3
Intel® Atom Processor® N270 (1.6GHz/533Mhz FSB/512K cache)
120GB, 2.5inch, 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
24WHr Lithium-Ion Battery (3-cell)
Inspiron Mini 10v
10.1” Widescreen Display (1024x600)
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950
1GB DDR2 SDRAM

NB mini notebooks do not have a DVD drive so I would have to load my 3ds Max through the USB somehow...would that work?

Thank you!

Peace

If anyone is interested I did find that the Dell Inspirion mini has a review using 3ds max 2008 here:  http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/product/32155/tests/inspiron_mini_9.html

Wow. Running Max on that machine might be a little painful. You can always try. If it doesn’t work, the only thing you will loose is time.

As fas as loading Max...best bet might be to connect through a USB or a network cable to another computer with a DVD player. Or buy an external DVD player with a USB connection. Not sure if simply copying the contents of the DVD onto a large USB drive would work. It might. Anyway, Good luck!

net books aren’t made to run CAD software
that doesn’t even meet the system requirements to run max
you can try it i doubt its going to work

Which system requirements does it not meet?  I can’t find the 2009 3ds Max system requirement specs (my original question) and those that I do find only speak about RAM and HD space which the netbooks seem to meet...Thank you anyway

I’m guessing the biggest issue you’ll run into is the video.  You may have the RAM and Hard Drive space, but the processor may not work and the integrated video is most likely not going to work.
