When I use an arch+Design material
I can assign a simple contour shader
in the “Mental ray connection->Advanced shaders->
->contour shader”

Can I do the same on a 2009 pro material and how?

thanks a lot.

I don’t think the ProMaterial was designed for things like that, but as with so many things in 3ds Max there is a solution for you.

Create a new mental ray material.  Assign a “material to shader”...shader to the surface map of this new mental ray material.  Drag your ProMaterial over to this material to shader as an instance.  Now you can use the contour settings in the mental ray material and it will retain the surface characteristics of the ProMaterial, but add the contour shader output.

thanks Jeff.

I’ll try it as you told me.
