I get an annoying redraw issue with max 2009 (has been happening since 9!) The viewports redraw over any open windows, like the material editor so the windows need to be minimized then restored to view the window again. I have tried all combination of options in the configure driver section and have the latest video drivers. I just upgraded from a nvidia 8800 gt to a gtx 285 and have the same problem. I have also had the same problem on a dell workstation with a quadro card!! All using XP 64bit and 64bit max.
Any ideas?

Mouse drivers - especially Intellimouse and (to a lesser extent) Logitech. If you have either of those, uninstall the drivers and use the default ones built into windows.

If it doesn’t help just reinstall them.

Max 4.2 through 2013.
XP-64 (SP2)
NVidia 9800GTX-512 (Driver 266.58).
Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz, 8Gb Ram, DX9.0c.
