I just want to be able to render a realistic fire in my interiors :( hehe, I got carried away when seeing things are able like:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JljSUt-ufZI

but hey.. is mental ray and fume fx aren’t compatible… to bad..

Well I´m not a expert but I´m always reading the new so i find something

“What’s new
FumeFX 1.2

This point release brings a mental ray support through a mental ray shader.
With FumeFX installation, user gets the ability to render FumeFX by using mental ray renderer. By default, rendering with mental ray is possible on local machine only. Network rendering will require additional licenses that can be purchased from our online store.”

Read what is new in the new release from plugin homepage http://www.afterworks.com/FumeFX.asp

google.com/trends
and search for Mental Ray, Vray

do yourself a favour and get a modern renderer (and I´m not only talking about Vray).

That was very interesting.  You can search for both words at the same time separated by a comma. The Vray would be shown with an ascending red line while the Mental Ray has a blue line much lower and slightly descending

I makes you think that if the trends are gonna continue on the same path soon the whole world will use Vray (I myself use both - depending on the need)
