I’m looking for a way to use a texture map as the input for a glow effect. In a perfect world, I’d like the map to control the color of the glow and also limit where the glow does and does not exist based on my UVs, and I’d like to have other controls for intensity and bloom.

I’ve heard of people using maps in the self-illumination slot, but that doesn’t provide any bloom. I’d have to add the bloom in post production.

I’ve used video post for glows in the past, but I’ve never seen a way to limit it with a map - only effects IDs.

Essentially, I don’t want to control the placement of my glow with geometry selections, I want to control it with a map based on my UV layout.

Dustin,

Use a Blend material with your bitmap as the mask. One material uses Effects ID, the other does not.
