I’ve seen lots of black bucket before, since Max version 9, and there are lots of threads here about them.

But I’ve never seen them like this, in vertical lines. They are usually just random black squares.

Hi

Sometime make mental ray NaN errors and you can see a black spotch. The new feature in 3dsmax2009 is, when you render in 32Bit Framebuffer comes the black line. 8-/

Thorsten,
Changing to 16bit doesn’t change a thing here, it still happens.
Have you log this one ? to Autodesk ?

cheers

Hi,

I started getting this with a scene for the first time yesterday.  I haven’t seen it before in 2009, and other than rendering to RPF there is nothing unusual about the scene compared to a dozen other scenes we’ve done.

I thought the new service pack might fix it, but no luck.

Okay one thing I found that was creating the problem was using translucency in mia_material.

My scene has a Composite material that is animate/transitioning between a ProMaterial Generic and a completely transparent version.  I’ll have to take that out and see if it helps…

Hi

the Face and the Grass Picture on the top, have no translucence. It must be a other reason for the Bug.
