I’m currently working on modeling an F-15 model that’s due really soon so I wanted to finish the model on my home PC instead of in the lab at school. I went ahead and downloaded the 3DMax 2009 32 bit trial version to my home computer and it installs fine. When I go to open my file it loads fine but my reference plane bitmap images are all chunky like they’re low resolution :(((

This is what I’m currently getting and the following picture is the high resolution blueprint that I SHOULD be getting. Anyone know what could be doing wrong that would generate such low resolution bitmaps?

These are the steps I go through when I set-up my reference planes:

1. Created a flat plane
2. Converted the plane to an editable poly
3. Applied the UVW Mapping modifier
4. Selected the Gizmo within the modifier
5. Applied the bitmap from the Material Editor
6. I’ve played around with Bitmap Fit and that does nothing to the resolution of the material

Any help is appreciated !!

Wow !! It’s not as sharp as the viewports in the lab at school but HUGE overall improvement. I can actually see what the heck I’m modeling now.  Thank you so much !!
