hiii, i am a beginner in 3dmax and i am trying to model an outdoor swimming pool but the water doesn’t look realistic i am rendering using v-ray, can any one help me please, how can i make a swimming pool water material using v-ray,to look like the picture attached.

3ds max used currantly using max 9 (7, 8)
poser using 8 (5,6,7)
windows xp sp2

heey, thanks for the tutorials but unfortunately am using v-ray rendering program, and am having a problem applying those waves,

Do a search on google 3ds max pool realistic water tutorials vray then are a lot of tutorials out there,

Basic water material which should look pretty realistic is almost black diffuse (same as glass), near white reflection, check fresnel, near white refraction.

Add a bump map, almost any will do, since wind will create really random tiny waves.

If the scene is correctly setup, lighting wise, this will give really good results.
