how can i save textures with .3ds?

i want to upload a .3ds file to a website
how can i do that without having to upload the textures in a seperate folder
i downloaded many .3ds file that have the textures in the 3ds file, without source file

how can i do it?

You can’t embed a bitmap into a .3DS file. The scenes you’ve downloaded will either use procedural textures (noise, tiling, etc.) to create the texture using math, or will refer to the standard materials libraries within Max to collect a copy of the bitmap file from your own system.

There are only a few 3D file formats which allow texture embedding - Universal 3D (.U3D) and Right Hemisphere DE (.RH) are probably the most widely-used. There’s a free Max plugin for .RH files, just google for it.
