I am trying to import 2007 autocad 3d DWGs into 3ds max 2009 and I keep getting the error “ebaddwgheader”. I keep deleting things in t he autocad file and redrawing them and I’ve gotten it to work about 3 out of 30 tries. I have also tried to import from autocad 2004 files and get the error “eEndofFile”. Any suggestions???

have you tried ... File>Drawing Utilities - “audit” or “recover” within autocad ?

You could also try purging the file in AutoCAD a number of times or WBlock out all the objects in the file to create a new file. Then import the cleaned file into Max.
You could also try linking the file and to see if it attaches the file with out any errors. If that works and you need to import the file you could bind it from File Link dialog
