| Is there a way to lock the viewport for viewing animation?
|
|
|
When animating, I might adjust something in a top viewport and then click “ / “ to play the animation, forgetting to make the camera viewport the active one. Is there some way to lock that viewport for animation viewing purposes? Is there a keyboard command which would let me activate the camera viewport with just one keystroke?
Thanks!

I don’t think there is a way to lock it for viewport playback, but the “c” key will switch to your camera (if there’s one, a list if there is more). So your total key combo might be “c /”
C - Camera
T - Top
P - perspective
etc…
Hope this helps,
MP

You could uncheck “Active Viewport Only” in the Time Configuration Menu. Then it wouldn’t matter; the animation plays in all viewports at once.

Not aware of a way to do quite that Graham, but you could un-check the “active viewport only” option in the Time Configuration dialog - the animation will play in all the viewports. Not a good idea if you’re using particle systems, but for normal stuff it’s usually ok.
