I’ve been trying very hard to figure out how to create a scene with mr sun & sky and photometric lights. As a landscape architect most of my models are of courtyards and pool resorts that look nice durning the day, but fantastic when they are lit up at night. However i’m not really sure the best way to do this. I always create my scene with pro or a&d mats and use the mr sun & sky system with gamma set a 2.2 and photo exposure control. This work well for daytime shots, shadow studies and sunrise and sunset shots.
However, I would like to be able take that same scene and add photometric lights, turn the time to midnight and render a night scene but this doesn’t seem to work. What i eventually hope to do is animate a scence that starts at sunrise, goes until midnight and depicts the full range of daytime light and shadows, and then, as the sun sets, the photometric lights turning themselves on and the sky eventually going dark. Is this possible with the mr sun & sky system? If not could someone suggest a proper workflow to achieve this?
Attached is an example of a typical site that i’ve done and shows the farthest i’m able to take it in terms of lighting.
