Hey guys, I’m relatively new in using Max 09, been using it just for 2 months, and I’m still trying to get the hang of it.

Right now I have a problem with modifying custom bones that aren’t included in the biped, which was a pain, since the biped had a dire shortage of custom prop bones. See, I made custom bones and rigged them into a pair of bow-like devices, and after failing to get the bones on each limb to rotate opposite of each other as opposed to rotating the same direction when I select 2 of their limbs that does most of the moving, I found that I could “slide” those bones left and right without the need to slide them separately, as shown in the first attachment I made.

Unfortunately, I may have overlooked a minor detail, and when I was testing the same method in a radically different angle, they bent very wildly like stiff noodles. You can see the problem highlighted there in the second attachment.

So my aim with this is to fix the bones so that they only move/rotate in just 1 axis, sliding back and forth in correlation to the direction where the bones have been made. Is there a way to lock them this way?

Cheers.

PS: I’m aware that this may be a more fitting topic to be posted in a specific Max subforum, so if this is the case, you can move this help topic in the appropriate subforum.
