I have gone through a tutorial via “introducing 3ds Max” and everything seemed normal.

However, I have started a new project and when I click on an object, the “gizmo” no longer appears and I have to select the x,y or z coordinates via the tool bar.

I’ve included to picts. one is a box. That is how I see things now. the other is a sphere. That’s how I used to see the gizmo.

did I hit something to prevent me from seeing the gizmo? or implimenting it?

Thanks in advance.

Okay, I figure it out.

I went into the Customize pulldown and selected Preferences

when that opened, I clicked on the “gizmo” tab.

Under “transform gizmo” the “on” button wasn’t selected.

I clicked it “on” and everything returned to normal with the gizmo.

It’s easy to accidentally hit the “x” hotkey....which toggles the axis gizmo on and off.  It’s nice to toggle it off when doing small detailed vertex pushing a lot.
