Performance-driver for AMT/ ATI Fire GL and Nvidia Quadro graphics cards: availability ?

Hi everybody,
I am really wondering why there is no updated, working driver for the new 3DS MAx Desing 2009 available.
Can that be?
Why are AMD / ATI or Nvidia so behind on this?
We have four machines here running with GL cards and none of them really pulls the workload as they did under MAX 8 in the viewports.
Has anybody been able to install a “ performance driver “ on MAX Desing 2009 for either ATI or Nvidia Quadro cards?
Any help really appreciated!
