Hi, I need to create a “projector” inside a scene that is projecting the feed from a camera in the same scene. Rendering seperate clips won’t do.

I had asked this before somewhere and someone said that it could be done via maxscript. Basically the projector used a texture that was one from behind the sequence. But… I can’t find the script, can anyone help?

Thanks,
Cody Smith

I recall similar questions coming up before, do a search, I think there was an answer.

That was a suggestion Tim made sometimes ago, the name of the posted file was Video_Feedback. I didn’t find it after a search; maybe the initial thread had a non descriptive title. It was a nice trick, I think Tim will jump in and post it again.

Actually I have it somewhere in my archive but it is Tim’s business to post it in the forum.

would creating a camera with an attached plane achieve the same thing you’re trying to do?

i often use the script from maya from the following website:
http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/camera-plane-maya-style

after creating the camera + plane i unhide the plane and change properties to allow for it to be seen by cameras.

ya, i know its not truly ‘projecting’ from a soure4 but you could always just have a light source there to represent the emitter.
